TEST DESCRIPTION:
1. The CORDON ID1 Test is based on metagenomics next generation sequencing (mNGS).
2. This test can detect and quantify intact and cell free nucleic acid (DNA/RNA) in directly clinical specimens from >5000 microorganisms (bacteria/fungi/parasite/viruses) and antibiotics resistance genes.
3. Works in any clinical sample (plasma, cerebrospinal fluid, bronchoalveolar lavage, sputum, nasopharyngeal swab, tracheal aspirate, ocular swab, stool, urine, synovial fluid, lymph node biopsy and tissues.
4. Hypothesis free testing in any Infectious disease (sepsis/respiratory tract infection/central nervous system infection/gastrointestinal infection/urinary tract infection/ocular infection/orthopedic implant-associated infection/fever and hepatitis).
5. Microorganism are classified into groups based on phenotypic characteristics.
Phenotypic group 1 represents obligate and opportunistic pathogens which can cause disease at any quantity.
Phenotypic group 2 represent commensal pathogens which can cause disease but may also represent normal microbiota.
6. Pathogens list
